Sara and Jordan’s wedding at Mallard Island Yacht Club in New Jersey was stunning! What an amazing couple and we couldn’t be happier to be able to capture their day for them. Here’s what Sara wanted to share about her day: “It was an absolutely spectacular fall day. Barely any clouds in the sky. We chose Mallard Island Yacht Club because my husband, Jordan, is in the Yachting Industry and we met in Sag Harbor, NY when he was the Captain of my best friend from law school’s parents’ boat. So a yacht club and the water have special meaning to us and how we met. We both got ready at Mallard before doing our first look. The bridal suite at Mallard is ridiculously big! It has its own salon, which the girls and I used for hair and make-up. Jordan and his groomsmen got ready in the Groom’s Shack, which was a cozy shack on the water where the guys all had Scotch and were able to watch TV and hang out before the wedding. We loved the little chapel on site at Mallard where our ceremony was held. It extended out over the water and had a beautiful fireplace that we had filled with candles and flowers. We both distinctly remember how pretty it looked later at night with all the candles glowing. One of Jordan’s best friends from Minnesota married us, which added a very personal touch to our ceremony. As our wedding gift to our guests we gave out coasters that said Sara & Jordan, October 22, 2011 with a picture of an anchor on them. We thought that was a fun and different gift that our guests could actually use in the future and remember our special day. We had reserved Mallard Island for the entire day, which allowed our family and other guests to stay over the night of the wedding in the guest rooms at Mallard. Each room is decorated differently, and all are beautiful!” Congratulations again Sara and Jordan!
Details: Hair/Make-up: Allison Friedman-Bucchianico - Wedding Dress: Christos via Jaehee Bridal in New Jersey - Shoes: Badgley Mischka – Jewelry: I wore pearl and diamond earrings that my parents bought me as a gift for my wedding day and I also wore two flowers in my hair from a London designer. My mom was born in London and I studied abroad there for 6 months in college. Florist: Kate Duffy 732.741.3370. Katy did a great job with the flowers. We wanted a subdued nautical theme. Not something over the top nautical, but rather classy and elegant. I loved the ropes she used around the vases on the tables. Band: Soul System Orchestra They were absolutely phenomenal! They are young and give the most enthusiastic performance I have ever seen at any event. They were voted the best band in NY by the knot. We had an 11 piece band that was amazing!
