An Angel Orensanz Wedding – Jackie & Jourdan

Jackie and Jourdan had their wedding at the opulent Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York City, and they didn’t stop at booking a spectacular venue– they commissioned Melanie Arden of Melarosa to bring Angel Orensanz to life!  Our photographers captured the striking, elegant portraits for which Brett Matthews has become very well-known, and we did so everywhere.  The results?  You’d have to see them to believe them.  Congratulations, Jackie & Jourdan!

Allison’s Wonderland Bat Mitzvah!

Allison celebrated her Bat Mitzvah at Fresh Meadow Country Club, where she decked out the whole place in an Alice in Wonderland-style theme, complete with live actors and actresses!  Does it get any cooler?  Allison is the third member of her family to have an event photographed by Brett Matthews, so we beamed with extra pride as Allison completed the most important rite of passage in her young life so far.  Mazel Tov, Allison!

A Plaza Hotel Wedding – Georgina & James

Georgina & James’s wedding reception at the opulent Plaza Hotel was on a beautiful Spring day that provided a prime opportunity for our team to capture elegant portraits of the couple.  The Plaza, which is the only hotel in New York that is on the Register of Historic Landmarks, is simply ideal for a fantastic event like this: situated in the heart of New York City on Fifth Avenue, its breathtaking Grand Ballroom is a true sight to behold.  What helped is that David Beahm Designs did masterful work with the setting, putting together wonderful decorations that really brought the Plaza to life.  To top it all off, check out those golf clubs below– that’s actually the groom’s cake, designed by the incomparable Ron Ben-Israel.

When people finally filed in to partake in the celebration, Valerie Romanoff of Starlight Orchestras totally rocked the house!  It was a joy working with Emily Reifel of CPS Events, who could not have been more helpful or accommodating.  And finally, Christine Paul was flawless in planning and executing this event to the finest detail: everything was perfect, and she did an incredible job putting it all together.  Congratulations again to Georgina and James!

Mirey & Sevan’s Engagement Session!

Mirey and Sevan are getting married next week at the Pierre Hotel, and as our brides and grooms know quite well, each of our photography packages includes an engagement photo session.  For their engagement session, Mirey and Sevan chose to go to Central Park– a tricky proposition for most photographers (because of the crowds), but here at Brett Matthews, we take those types of challenges head-on.  As you can see, their session was a smashing success, with the couple looking stunning amongst the beautiful scenery like they have the park all to themselves.  We can’t wait to photograph their wedding at the Pierre in less than two weeks!

A Lighthouse Wedding – Brittany & William

Brittany & William traveled from the Hilton Hotel to Abigail Kirsch’s Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in style– by taking the groom’s DeLorean, straight out of Back to the Future!  But they had no need to escape the present, seeing as how they showed yet again that the Lighthouse is a spectacular venue by decorating it with jaw-dropping centerpieces from Atlas Floral and tinting the room with an ocean blue hue.  Great early Spring weather allowed our team to capture fun candid portraits with the unique riverfront horizon that you can only see at the Lighthouse.  And to end the night, the couple rocked out to entertainment provided by our friends at Hank Lane Music and Productions.  Congratulations again, Brittany and William!

A Lighthouse Wedding – Elizabeth & Matthew

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better setting in the world for your wedding than The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, an exclusive Abigail Kirsch venue.  Enchanting views of New York City and the finest accommodations (including a top caterer)– what’s not to love?  So it comes as no surprise that Elizabeth and Matthew chose the Lighthouse.  Their wedding was the natural outcome of a relationship that began with sharing their lives together– growing up in the same town, going to the same high school, and dating for nine wonderful years before finally exchanging vows.  ”We were so happy to have such beautiful warm weather in March!” the bride told us.  Well, Elizabeth, how you could not expect the universe to smile as you guys made a storybook relationship even happier with this beautiful wedding?  Congratulations again to both you and Matthew!
